Bowers & Wilkins Marine 6 - Outdoor Speakers
The marine environment is possibly the most unforgiving into which you can introduce a high-performance loudspeaker. Bowers & Wilkins Marine Series loudspeakers are designed to thrive in this environment. They are incredibly durable but not at the expense of sonic performance. Bowers & Wilkins engineers made sure the sound was right, and then added the necessary toughness.
The smaller of the two speakers in the Bowers & Wilkins Marine Series, the Marine 6 features a 25mm (1in) tweeter and a 150mm (6in) polypropylene bass/midrange driver - delivering pristine sound in the most severe of environments.
The speaker boasts an IP66 rating, which meaning it is capable of surviving the extremes of temperature, salt spray and hosing down that occurs in a marine environment. The metal grille and fixings are marine-grade stainless steel. The driver chassis uses a non-corroding rigid polymer and the tweeter dome has a rear support to prevent permanent deformation when hosed down.
This ruggedness means that Marine 6 is also capable of providing great sound in a variety of other unforgiving circumstances, especially where a smaller footprint is required.
