Dali Opticon 1 MK2  - Beautiful sound all around

The Opticon 1 MK2 is the most compact model in the Opticon Series. From the ultra-light soft-dome tweeter, to the wood-fibre woofer, and even the crossover, Dali's goals are low coloration and wide dispersion. The first is important because you want to hear your music the way it's supposed to sound, and the second because you're not always sitting in the acoustic ‘sweet spot’ and with wider dispersion you get better sound quality when listening off-axis.

Fills your compact spaces with great sound

Designed to take advantage of smaller room acoustics, a pair of Opticon 1 MK2s will deliver a soundstage with impressive depth. Opticon 1 MK2 is a true 2-way design featuring a 4¾" wood fibre woofer matched with a new large 29 mm soft dome tweeter derived from the high-end Callisto series.

Dali carefully designed these speakers for a seamless handoff between the drivers. The woofer's stiff, lightweight construction — a blend of fine-grain paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres - has an inviting sonic signature. And the 29mm soft dome tweeter also reproduces relatively low frequencies for a tweeter — so that it overlaps with the woofer in the most musical manner.

To enhance the lower bass frequencies, Dali's Dual Flare port design minimizes turbulence with careful regulation of the airflow determined by the port diameter and cabinet tuning frequency. It's mounted on the rear of the cabinet, but it fires downward to allow placement close to a wall.

Patented distortion-reducing technology

The patented SMC (soft magnetic compound) woofer magnet pole pieces in Dali's Opticon line significantly reduce mechanical distortion, and help create a relaxed, uncoloured midrange. You'll hear a surprising amount of detail, without fatiguing your ears.

Premium construction

Dali has been making high-end speakers since 1983. The Opticon range is their most affordable made-in-Denmark line, and we think it offers great value for money. They're assembled in pairs by a single Dali technician, to ensure visual and acoustic matching. High-density MDF cabinets, with internal bracing and acoustic damping material throughout, all but eliminate resonance whilst a choice of three high quality finishes helps to ensure seamless integration into your decor.
