Premium Class AB amplification

The AVR5 features an over engineered power supply and transformer for real world power with low noise. The 7 channels of Class AB amplification provide a meaty 80w per channel and are based upon those used in Arcam stereo amplifiers, guaranteeing musicality not usually heard from other AV receivers.

Immerse yourself in your favourite films

Surround sound decoding has come a long way over the years. The AVR5 supports 12 channels of surround sound decoding for formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

You can run a pretty large surround sound system using just the receiver's seven built-in channels. Or you can take advantage of the many preamp outputs on the rear panel and use a separate amplifier to run a 7.2.4-channel system. Either way, this receiver accurately reproduces every aspect of a movie's soundtrack, from thunder above, to explosions behind, and front-and-centre action unfolding on-screen.

Streaming music made easy

AVR21 supports streaming through Apple AirPlay® 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth®, Spotify Connect®, and TIDAL Connect. It supports UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) too, which lets you access high-res files stored on your home network. You can select streaming sources through the free MusicLife app (available on Android™ and iOS®). The app also lets you use your phone as a Wi-Fi remote control.

Internet, DAB and FM Radio

Internet radio offers an enormous choice of radio stations and musical genres from around the world. Backing this up, the built-in DAB and FM tuners give wide-ranging access to all your favourite stations, including popular digital only stations, such as BBC 6 Music and 4 Extra.

Versatile connectivity

With seven HDMI inputs and twin outputs, the AVR5 handles the most complex AV systems. The HDMI2.0b sockets are compatible with HDCP2.2 and eARC. Six digital and six analogue inputs are ample for a wide range of audio components – such as CD, streamer and pre-amp equipped turntable. There are also optical digital and analogue outputs – ideal for recording or looping sound through the Arcam.
