Description

Arcam CD25 CD Player

The Arcam CD25 is a premium Compact Disc player designed to bring the best possible performance from physical music collections. Developed from almost four decades of Arcam digital audio experience, it combines a precision CD transport, low-noise linear power supply and sophisticated dual-mono digital-to-analogue conversion.

Created as the reference CD player within the Radia Series, the CD25 is an ideal partner for amplifiers such as the Arcam A50 Signature, SA45, A25+ and SA35, while its balanced and unbalanced outputs make it easy to integrate into a wide range of high-quality hi-fi systems.

Dual-Mono ESS DAC Architecture

At the heart of the CD25 is an advanced dual-mono DAC design using two ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips. Rather than asking a single DAC to process both stereo channels, the CD25 dedicates one DAC to each channel. Each operates in balanced mode and is supported by dedicated ESS reference voltage regulation, helping to maximise channel separation while reducing noise and distortion.

The result is a clean, detailed and spacious presentation designed to preserve the musical information contained on every disc.

Precision CD Mechanism

The CD mechanism is mounted to an internal vibration-damping chassis, helping to isolate it from unwanted mechanical resonance. Stable disc rotation and accurate data retrieval are essential to high-quality CD playback, and Arcam has paid particular attention to the mechanical construction of the CD25 to give the digital circuitry the cleanest possible signal to work with.

Low-Noise Linear Power Supply

A carefully engineered linear power supply provides clean, stable power to the CD25’s digital and analogue circuitry. By minimising electrical noise within the player, Arcam is able to preserve low-level detail and dynamic subtlety, helping music sound more natural and less processed.

Balanced XLR and RCA Outputs

The CD25 provides both balanced XLR and conventional RCA analogue outputs. Its XLR connection makes it a particularly strong partner for amplifiers with balanced inputs, including the Arcam A50 Signature and SA45, while the RCA outputs provide easy compatibility with a much broader range of integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers.

Digital Outputs for External DACs

If you prefer to use the CD25 purely as a transport, both optical and coaxial digital outputs are provided. This allows the player to be connected to an external DAC, digital amplifier or another component with its own digital conversion stage, adding useful flexibility as your system evolves.

Play More Than Standard Audio CDs

Alongside conventional audio CDs, the CD25 supports CD-R and CD-RW discs, including discs containing compatible digital audio files.

Supported data formats include: WAV, FLAC, MP3 and AAC. WAV and FLAC files are supported at resolutions from 16-bit to 24-bit, with sample rates up to 96kHz. This gives the CD25 added versatility for customers who maintain music collections on recordable optical media.

Designed for the Radia Series

The CD25 follows Arcam’s contemporary Radia design language, with its clean fascia, understated detailing and compact proportions. At 431mm wide, it has been designed to sit neatly alongside current Arcam electronics while remaining equally comfortable within mixed-brand hi-fi systems.

Its combination of restrained styling and substantial construction reflects the CD25’s position as a premium source component rather than simply a basic disc player.

Made for Serious CD Collections

For listeners with a large physical music library, the CD25 offers a compelling alternative to abandoning CDs in favour of streaming.

Its carefully isolated transport, dual-mono conversion and high-quality analogue stages are designed to extract more information, space and musical expression from familiar recordings, while retaining the simplicity of selecting a disc and pressing play.

Perfect partner for Arcam A50 Signature, SA45, A25+ and SA35

The ARCAM CD25 is designed for music lovers who still value the simplicity and ownership of Compact Disc but want performance that matches a modern high-end hi-fi system.

Its dual-mono ESS DAC architecture, carefully isolated transport and balanced analogue outputs make it a natural choice for anyone looking to get more from an established CD collection while maintaining the clean, contemporary system design of the Radia range.
