Dedicated High-Quality CD Playback

ARCAM has been developing CD players since the introduction of its Delta 70 in 1986, and that experience has been applied throughout the CD5.

Rather than treating CD playback as simply another feature, the CD5 has been engineered specifically to extract excellent performance from physical media. It supports standard audio CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs, making it suitable for both commercial releases and compatible recorded music collections.

Premium ESS ES9018 DAC

At the heart of the CD5's analogue output stage is an ESS ES9018K2M digital-to-analogue converter. This high-performance DAC converts the digital information from your discs into a clean and accurate analogue signal, allowing the CD5 to connect directly to virtually any integrated amplifier or pre-amplifier using its stereo RCA outputs.

Supported formats include FLAC, WAV, MP3, AAC and WMA, with FLAC and WAV playback available at resolutions of up to 24-bit/96kHz. This makes the CD5 a convenient way to enjoy a collection of downloaded or ripped digital music without requiring a separate digital source.

Analogue & Digital Outputs

Flexible connectivity makes it easy to integrate the CD5 into both traditional and more advanced HiFi systems.

A pair of stereo RCA analogue outputs lets you take advantage of the CD5's internal ESS DAC, providing a straightforward connection to an amplifier.
