Audiolab 6000A MKII Integrated Amplifier

The Audiolab 6000A MKII builds on the success of the original 6000A with a series of meaningful upgrades to its power supply, DAC section and connectivity.

Retaining the clean design and flexible architecture that made the original so popular, the MKII adds a new ESS ES9038Q2M DAC, HDMI ARC, improved Bluetooth and an enhanced power supply, while continuing to offer 50 watts per channel of Class AB amplification, a moving magnet phono stage and dedicated headphone amplifier.

50W Class AB Amplification

At the heart of the 6000A MKII is a discrete Class AB power amplifier delivering 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 75 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its Complementary Feedback topology is designed to provide excellent linearity and thermal stability, while the amplifier can deliver up to 11 amps of output current when required.

Improved Power Supply

The MKII benefits from an upgraded transformer and power supply implementation compared with the original 6000A. A substantial 200VA toroidal transformer feeds four 15,000µF reservoir capacitors, providing a total of 60,000µF of smoothing capacity.

The revised transformer design delivers increased secondary voltage and reduced impedance, helping the amplifier maintain firmer control and improved dynamic stability.

ESS ES9038Q2M DAC

Digital conversion is handled by an upgraded ESS ES9038Q2M 32-bit DAC, replacing the ES9018 used in the original 6000A. The DAC incorporates ESS HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology, while Audiolab has also introduced a new Class A post-DAC active filter stage.

The result is a more refined digital section designed to deliver lower noise, improved detail and a more natural presentation from connected digital sources.

HDMI ARC for TV Sound

A major new addition to the 6000A MKII is HDMI ARC. This allows a compatible television to connect directly to the amplifier, making it easy to enjoy films, programmes and streaming services through your main hi-fi speakers. For customers who want better TV sound without installing a full AV amplifier or soundbar, HDMI ARC makes the 6000A MKII much more versatile than the original model.

aptX HD Bluetooth
