Audiolab 9000A Integrated Amplifier

The Audiolab 9000A is the flagship integrated amplifier in Audiolab’s 9000 Series, combining serious Class AB power with an advanced ESS DAC, balanced analogue connectivity, high-resolution USB audio, MM phono stage and premium Bluetooth support.

Delivering 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the 9000A is designed for listeners who want greater scale, control and flexibility from a high-performance two-channel system.

100W Class AB Amplification

At the heart of the 9000A is a discrete Class AB amplifier stage using Audiolab’s Complementary Feedback topology. This design is intended to deliver excellent linearity, strong thermal stability and high current capability, allowing the amplifier to remain composed with demanding loudspeakers and complex musical passages.

Power output is rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with up to 15 amps of output current available when required.

Substantial 320VA Power Supply

The power amplifier is supported by a custom 320VA toroidal transformer and four 15,000µF reservoir capacitors, providing a total of 60,000µF of smoothing capacity. This substantial power supply gives the 9000A the dynamic headroom and current delivery needed to drive larger floorstanding loudspeakers with confidence.

Flagship ESS ES9038PRO DAC

Digital conversion is handled by the ESS ES9038PRO 32-bit DAC, Audiolab’s flagship DAC implementation in this amplifier. The DAC uses ESS HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology, while Audiolab combines it with carefully designed analogue output circuitry to preserve detail, reduce noise and maintain a natural presentation.

High-Resolution USB Audio

The rear USB-B input supports PCM audio up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD playback up to DSD512. This makes the 9000A an excellent choice for computer-based hi-res audio systems, while the optical and coaxial digital inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Balanced XLR Input

Alongside three conventional RCA line inputs, the 9000A includes a balanced XLR analogue input. This makes it particularly suitable for premium source components with balanced outputs and provides additional flexibility when building a high-end two-channel system.

High-Performance MM Phono Stage

Vinyl playback is handled by a dedicated moving magnet phono stage using a low-noise JFET-based circuit with precise RIAA equalisation. A compatible MM turntable can connect directly to the amplifier without the need for an external phono preamplifier.

Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and aptX HD

Wireless playback is supported through Bluetooth 5.1 with a strong range of high-quality codecs, including: aptX, aptX HD, AAC and LDAC. 

LDAC support is particularly useful with compatible devices, providing higher-bandwidth wireless audio than basic Bluetooth codecs.

Dedicated Headphone Amplifier

The 9000A includes a dedicated current-feedback headphone amplifier designed for headphones between 20 and 600 ohms. Its wide bandwidth and low output impedance help deliver a clean, dynamic presentation without requiring a separate headphone amplifier.

4.3-Inch Full-Colour IPS Display

A large 4.3-inch full-colour IPS display provides clear source information, settings and playback data. The display can also show digital or analogue-style VU meters, giving the 9000A a more contemporary feel while maintaining Audiolab’s clean, understated design.

Flexible Analogue and Digital Connectivity

The 9000A offers a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs, including 3 x RCA analogue inputs, 1 x balanced XLR input, 1 x MM phono input, 1 x power amplifier input, 2 x coaxial digital inputs, 2 x optical digital inputs and 1 x USB-B input.
