The Focal Bathys MG takes Focal’s premium wireless headphone concept to an even higher level, combining active noise cancellation and Bluetooth convenience with the company’s exclusive 40mm pure Magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome drivers.

Designed for listeners who want true high-end sound in a portable format, Bathys MG delivers greater precision, speed and detail than the standard Bathys, while retaining the same flexible mix of wireless listening, USB DAC operation, long battery life and everyday comfort.

Pure Magnesium ‘M’-Shaped Drivers

The biggest difference between Bathys MG and the standard Bathys is the driver technology. Bathys MG uses 40mm pure Magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome drivers, manufactured in Focal’s own workshops in France.

Magnesium is both lightweight and highly damped, allowing the drivers to respond quickly while maintaining excellent control. The result is a more detailed, more transparent and more finely resolved presentation, with deep bass, natural midrange and clear, extended treble.

High-Resolution USB DAC Mode

Bathys MG includes an integrated USB DAC mode, allowing a direct digital connection to a compatible computer, smartphone or tablet. USB playback supports high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, bypassing Bluetooth compression and giving the headphones the opportunity to deliver their highest level of sound quality.

Bluetooth 5.2 Multipoint

Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.2 with Multipoint, allowing Bathys MG to stay connected to two compatible devices. Supported codecs include: aptX Adaptive, aptX, AAC and SBC.

aptX Adaptive provides improved sound quality and reduced latency with compatible devices, making Bathys MG suitable for music, film and everyday wireless use.

Improved Active Noise Cancellation

Bathys MG features an upgraded microphone system designed to improve active noise cancellation and voice isolation. Three listening modes are available including Silent Mode for maximum noise reduction, Soft Mode for lighter noise cancellation and Transparent Mode for greater awareness of your surroundings.

This makes Bathys MG particularly effective for travel, commuting and busy work environments.

Up to 30 Hours Wireless Listening

Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours in Bluetooth mode with ANC active. When using a wired 3.5mm connection, battery life extends to approximately 35 hours, while USB DAC mode provides up to 42 hours of listening. A 15-minute quick charge provides up to 5 additional hours of playback.

Focal & Naim App

The Focal & Naim app gives access to a range of personalisation options, including: 5-band EQ, Preset listening modes, ANC control, Transparency mode, Mimi Hearing personalisation, Firmware updates and Focal logo illumination settings. These options allow Bathys MG to be tailored to suit both personal taste and listening environment.

Mimi Hearing Personalisation

Bathys MG supports Mimi Hearing, allowing the headphones to be adjusted according to an individual hearing profile. Once configured in the Focal & Naim app, the hearing profile remains stored in the headphones and can be applied across Bluetooth, USB DAC and analogue listening modes.

Premium Materials and Comfort

Bathys MG uses aluminium and magnesium throughout its structure, helping keep weight under control while maintaining a premium feel. A genuine leather headband and plush memory-foam earpads ensure a perfect fit for extended listening sessions, while the closed-back design helps reduce sound leakage and improve passive isolation. At around 350g, Bathys MG feels substantial without becoming overly heavy.
