The iFi ZEN Air Phono is an entry-level phono preamplifier designed to unlock better performance from any turntable setup. ZEN Air Phono provides a simple and effective way to improve clarity, detail and overall musicality when playing vinyl through an amplifier or active speakers.

At its core, the ZEN Air Phono uses a low-noise analogue circuit designed to preserve the delicate signal from your cartridge with minimal interference. This helps reduce background noise and improves overall transparency, allowing more of the record’s natural detail and character to come through.

The built-in RIAA equalisation is carefully tuned to maintain tonal balance across the frequency range, ensuring accurate playback of your records with controlled bass, clear midrange and smooth high frequencies. This results in a more natural and engaging listening experience compared to most built-in phono stages.

Simple gain and impedance matching options allow for easy setup and optimisation with a wide range of cartridges, making it straightforward to achieve the best possible performance without complex adjustments. There are two kinds of turntable cartridge - Moving Magnet and Moving Coil – and the ZEN Air Phono works with both of them. The MM setting is for cartridges with an output voltage of 2mV and higher. The MC setting for outputs less than 2mV. You use the gain switch on the rear to change this setting. .
