The Monitor Audio Silver 500 8G is the largest and most powerful floorstanding speaker in the eighth-generation Silver Series. New RST III Driver Technology

The Silver 500 8G introduces Monitor Audio's latest Rigid Surface Technology III (RST III) cone geometry.

Twin 8-inch C-CAM bass drivers provide the foundation of the speaker's performance, combining substantial low-frequency extension with excellent speed and control. The new RST III geometry increases cone rigidity, helping the drivers behave more like ideal pistons while reducing unwanted distortion.

The result is bass that's deep and powerful when the music demands it, but remains articulate, controlled and rhythmically precise.

Dedicated 3-Inch Midrange Driver

As a true three-way loudspeaker, the Silver 500 8G uses a dedicated 3-inch C-CAM midrange driver rather than asking the large bass drivers to reproduce critical vocal frequencies.

This allows voices and instruments to be reproduced with greater openness, clarity and natural detail, while the bass drivers concentrate exclusively on delivering low-frequency scale and authority.

The dedicated midrange is particularly beneficial with complex recordings, helping individual instruments remain clearly defined within a spacious and precisely focused soundstage.

C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter

High frequencies are handled by Monitor Audio's latest 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter.

Lightweight yet extremely rigid, the C-CAM diaphragm is designed to deliver extended, detailed high frequencies with excellent transient response. Careful integration with the dedicated midrange driver creates a smooth and coherent transition through the upper frequencies, producing an open and refined presentation without sacrificing detail.

New Silent Flow Port Technology

Silver Series 8G introduces Silent Flow Port Technology, designed to improve the way air moves through the speaker's bass reflex system. By reducing unwanted turbulence and airflow noise, the new port design allows the bass drivers to operate more efficiently, helping the Silver 500 8G produce cleaner, more controlled low frequencies even during demanding musical passages and at higher listening levels.

Refined Crossover Design

The crossover network has also been extensively refined for Silver Series 8G. Each component has been carefully selected and optimised to ensure the tweeter, dedicated midrange and twin bass drivers work together as a coherent whole. Rigid Cabinet Construction

The Silver 500 8G uses Monitor Audio's Through-Bolt Driver Bracing, securing the drive units directly through the cabinet. This approach increases overall cabinet rigidity while mechanically decoupling the drivers from the front baffle, helping reduce unwanted cabinet vibration and colouration. Newly designed outrigger feet provide a stable foundation for the substantial floorstanding cabinet, helping ensure the drivers can perform with precision while giving the speaker a cleaner, more contemporary appearance.
