PMC prophecy9 Speakers

Description

PMC prophecy9 Floorstanding Speakers

The PMC prophecy9 is the flagship of the prophecy range, combining exceptional scale, transparency and dynamic ability with an elegant, surprisingly slender cabinet. Designed for listeners seeking the highest level of performance from the prophecy series, this premium three-way floorstanding speaker brings together PMC's renowned transmission-line engineering, dedicated midrange technology and twin bass drivers to create an exceptionally immersive listening experience.

At the heart of the prophecy9 is PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL™), enhanced by the latest LaminairX aerodynamic airflow technology. The carefully engineered 2.57-metre effective transmission line works with twin 125mm LTXL mineral-cone bass drivers to produce remarkably deep, fast and articulate low frequencies. From the subtle texture of an acoustic bass to the scale and impact of orchestral or electronic music, the prophecy9 combines impressive extension with outstanding control.

The twin long-throw bass drivers feature lightweight mineral-filled cones and rigid cast-alloy chassis, allowing them to respond rapidly to even the smallest changes in the musical signal. Their dedicated low-frequency role also allows the midrange driver to operate without compromise.

A 55mm soft-dome precision midrange driver handles the critical vocal region, delivering exceptional openness, realism and clarity. This is partnered with PMC's 27mm soft-dome tweeter for smooth, extended and highly detailed high frequencies. The midrange and tweeter are integrated within PMC's distinctive profiled baffle and waveguide arrangement, helping create a wide, stable soundstage with precise imaging.

With a sensitivity of 91.5dB and recommended amplifier power of 30–300 watts, the prophecy9 is capable of delivering impressive performance with a wide variety of high-quality amplification. Its combination of efficiency, dynamic range and low-frequency authority allows it to reproduce everything from intimate late-night listening to large-scale performances with effortless composure.

Despite being the largest model in the prophecy range, the prophecy9 retains remarkably elegant proportions. At just 165mm wide, its slender cabinet integrates comfortably into contemporary living spaces while delivering the scale and authority normally associated with substantially larger loudspeakers.
