Description

Ruark Audio R1S Smart Radio

The Ruark R1S Smart Radio is a compact, beautifully designed music system that combines DAB+, FM and Internet Radio with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi streaming and useful everyday features.

Powered by a custom 75mm Ruark NS+ driver and a Class AB amplifier, the R1S delivers a clear, natural and surprisingly full-bodied sound from its compact cabinet. Add Spotify Connect, Deezer, Amazon Music, podcasts, USB playback and comprehensive alarm functions, and it becomes an ideal choice for kitchens, bedrooms, studies and smaller living spaces.

DAB, DAB+ and FM Radio

The R1S includes DAB, DAB+ and FM reception, giving easy access to national and local radio without relying solely on internet streaming.

FM includes RDS support for compatible station information, while a telescopic aerial is supplied for straightforward setup and reception.

Internet Radio

Built-in Wi-Fi opens up a huge choice of Internet Radio stations from around the world. Whether you prefer music, news, speech, specialist programming or international broadcasts, Internet Radio gives the R1S access to far more stations than conventional terrestrial radio alone.

Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music

The R1S includes integrated support for popular streaming services including Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music. This allows music to be selected from a compatible phone, tablet or computer and played directly through the R1S over Wi-Fi.

Dedicated Podcast Source

Podcasts have their own dedicated source, making it easier to find and enjoy spoken-word content without having to navigate through Internet Radio menus. For regular podcast listeners, this gives the R1S a particularly simple and convenient interface.

Bluetooth 5.2

Built-in Bluetooth 5.2 provides a quick way to play music, podcasts and other audio from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers, making the R1S equally useful as a compact wireless speaker when you want to play something directly from your own device.

Ruark NS+ Driver

Sound is delivered by a custom 75mm Ruark NS+ full-range driver powered by a 9W Class AB amplifier. The R1S also provides adjustable bass and treble controls together with switchable loudness EQ, allowing the sound to be tailored to suit the room and personal preference.

Its bass reflex cabinet helps produce a fuller low-frequency response than its compact dimensions might suggest.

Colour TFT Display

A clear colour TFT display shows station information, menus and playback details. Automatic dimming adjusts the display according to surrounding light levels, making the R1S equally suitable for daytime use or as a bedside radio.

Dual Alarms and Sleep Timer

The R1S includes comprehensive clock-radio functions, including dual independent alarms, Daily alarm setting, weekday setting, weekend setting, custom alarm schedules, sleep timer and snooze function.

A battery-backed real-time clock also ensures settings are retained if power is interrupted.

USB-C Charging and Music Playback

A rear USB-C port can charge compatible devices at up to 5W making it particularly useful on a bedside table or desk, where the R1S can also act as a convenient charging point.

Line Input and Headphone Output

A 3.5mm analogue line input allows external audio sources to be connected. A separate 3.5mm headphone socket is also provided for private listening, making the R1S flexible enough for both shared and personal use.

Contemporary Ruark Design

The R1S combines compact proportions with the premium detailing for which Ruark is known. Its softly curved cabinet is matched with a hand-crafted grille made from sustainable composite wood material designed to recreate the appearance of natural hardwood while reducing environmental impact. The signature RotoDial controller provides intuitive control from the top panel and gives the R1S a tactile, premium feel.
