Ruark Audio R3S Compact Music System

Description

Ruark Audio R3S Compact Music System

The Ruark Audio R3S is a compact all-in-one music system that combines CD playback, DAB+, FM and Internet Radio with music streaming, Bluetooth and high-quality stereo sound.

Designed for listeners who want a complete music system without the size and complexity of traditional hi-fi separates, the R3S brings together Ruark’s distinctive styling, intuitive operation and a pair of custom NS+ drivers powered by a 30W Class AB amplifier.

Compact Stereo Sound

The R3S uses two 75mm Ruark NS+ full-range drivers arranged in a stereo configuration, powered by a 30W Class AB amplifier. Its twin bass reflex cabinet helps produce a fuller, more substantial sound than the compact dimensions might suggest, while adjustable bass and treble, switchable loudness and Ruark’s 3D Audio processing allow the presentation to be tailored to the room and your listening preference.

Built-In CD Player

A discreet slot-loading CD player allows you to continue enjoying a physical music collection alongside modern streaming services. The R3S supports standard audio CDs and CD-R discs, with compatible data discs also supporting formats including WAV, MP3, WMA and AAC.

DAB, DAB+ and FM Radio

Traditional radio is well catered for with DAB, DAB+ and FM reception with RDS. Eight presets are available per mode, making it easy to store and quickly access favourite stations.

Internet Radio and Podcasts

Built-in Wi-Fi adds access to a huge range of Internet Radio stations and podcasts from around the world. This makes the R3S far more flexible than a conventional radio, with access to specialist music, speech and international programming alongside local broadcasts.

Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music

The R3S includes integrated support for popular streaming services including Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music. These services stream directly over Wi-Fi, allowing the R3S to operate as a complete standalone music system without needing a separate network streamer.

Bluetooth 5.2 built-in

Built-in Bluetooth 5.2 provides a quick and convenient way to play audio directly from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. This is ideal for streaming services or apps not supported natively by the R3S.

Optical Input for TV Sound

A rear TOSLINK optical digital input allows a compatible television or other digital source to connect directly to the R3S.

This makes it a useful alternative to a basic soundbar in smaller rooms, providing genuine stereo playback from one compact cabinet.

Analogue Line Input

A stereo RCA line input is provided for traditional analogue sources. This can be used with CD players, streamers, turntables with their own phono stage and other compatible components.

USB-C Charging and Playback

The rear USB-C port provides up to 5W charging for compatible devices and also supports MP3 playback from FAT32-formatted USB storage. This gives the R3S another useful playback option while helping reduce cable clutter around the system.

OLED Display

A high-contrast OLED display provides clear station, source and playback information. Automatic dimming adjusts the display to suit surrounding light levels, helping the R3S remain discreet in lower-light rooms.

Oktiv App and Remote Control

The R3S can be controlled using the Oktiv app for compatible iOS and Android devices. A dedicated infrared remote is also supplied, allowing convenient control of volume, source selection and playback from the listening position.

Elegant Ruark Design

The R3S follows Ruark’s familiar furniture-friendly design approach, with compact proportions, clean detailing and tactile controls. Available finishes include Rich Walnut with Dark Slate fabric grille and Charcoal Lacquer with Dark Slate fabric grille.

Its 420mm-wide cabinet makes it easy to place on a sideboard, shelving unit or kitchen worktop without dominating the room.
