125 Watts Per Channel

Sonos Amp delivers 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms, providing significantly more power than a typical compact streaming amplifier. That gives it enough headroom to drive a wide range of passive speakers cleanly and confidently, including larger floorstanding models and outdoor speakers.

With suitable loudspeakers, Amp can also be used for higher-volume listening without losing the ease of control and multi-room flexibility that define the Sonos platform.

Power Almost Any Passive Speaker

Sonos Amp works with traditional passive loudspeakers, including lower impedance 4-ohm designs.

It is equally comfortable powering Bookshelf speakers, Floorstanding speakers, In-wall speakers, In-ceiling speakers and Outdoor speakers. This makes it particularly useful for discreet installations where the speakers are built into the room but Sonos control and streaming are still required.

HDMI ARC for TV Sound

A built-in HDMI ARC connection allows Sonos Amp to become the audio centre of a high-quality two-channel television system. Connect a compatible TV and enjoy films, programmes and streaming services through your main passive speakers, with everyday volume control handled by the TV remote.

If your television only has an optical digital output, Sonos also supports connection using the optional Optical Audio Adapter.

Sonos Multi-Room Streaming

Amp gives any compatible pair of passive speakers access to the full Sonos multi-room platform. Use the Sonos app to play music, radio, podcasts and other audio, then group Amp with compatible Sonos speakers elsewhere in the home for synchronised multi-room listening.

It can work as a standalone stereo system or form part of a much larger whole-home audio installation.

Apple AirPlay 2

Built-in Apple AirPlay 2 allows music and other audio to be streamed directly from compatible iPhone, iPad and Mac devices. This gives Apple users another convenient way to play content while retaining full Sonos multi-room capability.

Connect a Turntable, CD Player or Other Source

A stereo RCA line input allows traditional audio components to become part of the Sonos system. Connect a CD player, tuner, streamer or turntable with a suitable phono stage and the source can be played through the speakers connected to Amp or shared with compatible Sonos products in other rooms.

This is particularly useful for customers who want to keep existing hi-fi sources while moving towards a modern multi-room system.

Add a Subwoofer

An auto-detecting RCA subwoofer output allows a compatible active subwoofer to be added.

The crossover can be adjusted between 50Hz and 110Hz in the Sonos app, making it easier to blend the subwoofer with the connected speakers.

Amp can also be used with compatible Sonos Sub products for a more integrated wireless setup.

Stereo or Dual Mono Operation

Sonos Amp can operate in conventional stereo or dual mono modes.

Stereo is ideal for normal two-channel listening, while dual mono can be useful in larger spaces, commercial environments or installations where listeners may not remain centred between a left and right speaker.

Trueplay with Sonos Architectural Speakers

When Amp is partnered with compatible Sonos In-Ceiling or In-Wall speakers, Trueplay room tuning can be used to optimise the system for the acoustic characteristics of the room.

Trueplay measures how the speakers interact with the space and adjusts the response to achieve a more balanced result.

Compact, Installation-Friendly Design

The square chassis measures just 217mm wide and 64mm high, making Sonos Amp easy to place on furniture, inside suitable AV cabinets or within professional installation systems.

Dual Ethernet ports are provided for wired network installations, while custom Sonos banana plugs make speaker connection neat and straightforward.
