The Sonos Beam Ultra takes the compact Beam concept to a new level, delivering a significantly bigger, more immersive sound while retaining the clean proportions that make Beam so easy to accommodate beneath a television.

With true Dolby Atmos, dedicated upward-firing drivers, enhanced bass, improved dialogue clarity and a new nine-amplifier acoustic architecture, Beam Ultra is designed for customers who want a cinematic upgrade without moving to a full-size soundbar such as Arc Ultra.

True Dolby Atmos from a Compact Soundbar

Beam Ultra uses dedicated upward-firing tweeters to create genuine height effects with compatible Dolby Atmos soundtracks. This allows sound to extend above and around the listening position, producing a more convincing sense of scale with films, television and games.

Despite the more advanced acoustic design, Beam Ultra remains compact enough to work comfortably with smaller and medium-sized televisions and living spaces.

Nine Class-D Digital Amplifiers

Inside Beam Ultra are nine individually tuned Class-D digital amplifiers, each matched to the soundbar’s acoustic architecture. The speaker system combines five tweeters and four low-profile woofers, giving Beam Ultra greater width, stronger bass and improved separation compared with a conventional compact soundbar.

Two side-firing horn-loaded tweeters help widen the stereo image, while two upward-firing tweeters support Dolby Atmos height information.

Clearer Dialogue with AI Speech Enhancement

Beam Ultra features AI Speech Enhancement, designed to identify human voices and improve dialogue clarity without simply making the entire soundtrack louder. Four Speech Enhancement levels are available through the Sonos app, allowing you to tailor dialogue reproduction to the programme and your personal preference.

This is particularly useful for films, drama and television where voices can sometimes become lost within busy soundtracks.

Stronger Bass Without a Separate Subwoofer

Four low-profile woofers provide a fuller and more authoritative low-frequency response than you might expect from such a compact enclosure. For many rooms, Beam Ultra can deliver satisfying bass on its own, while customers looking for greater impact can add a Sonos Sub Mini or Sub 4 to create a more powerful home cinema system.

Trueplay Room Tuning

Sonos Trueplay measures the acoustic characteristics of your room and adjusts Beam Ultra’s EQ accordingly. This helps compensate for the effects of walls, furniture and room layout, allowing the soundbar to deliver a more balanced and consistent performance from your actual listening position. Trueplay is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

HDMI eARC Connectivity

Beam Ultra connects to your television through HDMI eARC or ARC using the supplied HDMI cable. HDMI eARC allows compatible TVs to pass high-quality formats including Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos to the soundbar, while everyday volume control can normally be handled using your existing TV remote.

Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6

Unlike earlier Beam models, Beam Ultra includes Bluetooth 5.3, making it easy to stream directly from virtually any Bluetooth-enabled phone, tablet or computer. It also supports Wi-Fi 6, providing a fast and reliable connection to your Sonos system

Apple AirPlay 2

Apple users can stream music and other audio directly to Beam Ultra using AirPlay 2 from compatible iPhone, iPad and Mac devices. This sits alongside the full Sonos multi-room platform, allowing Beam Ultra to become part of a wider whole-home audio system.

Build a Full Surround System

Beam Ultra can be expanded over time into a complete wireless home cinema system. Add a Sonos Sub Mini or Sub 4 for deeper bass, then add compatible Sonos speakers as surrounds for a more immersive experience.

This modular approach makes Beam Ultra an ideal starting point for customers who want better TV sound now but may wish to build a larger Sonos cinema system later.
