Sonos Beam Ultra Surround Set With 2 x Era 100 SL

The Sonos Beam Ultra Surround Set combines Beam Ultra with two Era 100 SL speakers to create an immersive wireless surround sound system without the need for a conventional AV receiver or speaker cables running around the room.

Beam Ultra creates the front soundstage, handles dialogue and adds Dolby Atmos height effects, while the two Era 100 SL speakers operate as dedicated wireless rear surrounds, bringing films, TV and gaming to life with sound from behind the listening position.

Compact, simple to set up and easy to expand, the Beam Ultra Surround Set is particularly well suited to smaller and medium-sized living rooms where genuine surround sound is wanted without the clutter of a traditional home-cinema system.

Complete Wireless Surround Sound

At the heart of the system is Sonos Beam Ultra, a compact Dolby Atmos soundbar with nine Class-D amplifiers, five tweeters and four low-profile woofers. Two upward-firing tweeters help reproduce the height information contained in Dolby Atmos soundtracks, while side-firing drivers help create a wider front soundstage.

Adding the pair of Era 100 SL speakers gives the system dedicated rear channels, creating a far more enveloping experience than a soundbar on its own.

Each Era 100 SL features three Class-D amplifiers, two angled tweeters and a powerful mid-woofer. When configured as surrounds, the speakers reproduce dedicated rear effects, ambience and directional information, helping sound move naturally around the listening position. Their compact dimensions also make them easy to position on furniture, shelves or optional Sonos stands and wall mounts.

Dolby Atmos

Beam Ultra uses dedicated upward-firing drivers to support Dolby Atmos, adding a greater sense of height and space to compatible films and programmes. Together with the dedicated Era 100 SL rear speakers, this creates a more convincing three-dimensional soundstage, with effects extending beyond the front of the room.

Clearer Dialogue

Beam Ultra includes AI Speech Enhancement, designed to make voices clearer without simply increasing the overall volume. Multiple Speech Enhancement levels are available through the Sonos app, allowing dialogue clarity to be adjusted to suit different programmes and listening preferences.

For evening viewing, Night Sound reduces louder effects while making quieter details easier to hear.

HDMI eARC

Beam Ultra connects directly to a compatible television using the supplied HDMI cable via HDMI eARC or ARC. Once connected, the system automatically handles TV audio while your existing television remote can normally continue to control the volume. This keeps everyday operation straightforward without requiring an additional home-cinema remote.

Trueplay Room Tuning

Sonos Trueplay measures the acoustics of the listening room and adjusts the system accordingly. Beam Ultra and the two Era 100 SL surround speakers can therefore be balanced to work together as one coherent system rather than sounding like three separate speakers.

Bass, treble, surround levels and other settings can also be adjusted through the Sonos app.

Wireless Music Streaming

The Beam Ultra Surround Set also works as a versatile music system. Music can be streamed through the Sonos app, while Apple AirPlay 2 provides direct playback from compatible Apple devices. Beam Ultra and Era 100 SL also support Bluetooth 5.3, giving you another convenient way to play music directly from a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer.

Easy Sonos App Setup

Setting up the Beam Ultra Surround Set is handled through the Sonos app. Once Beam Ultra has been connected to the television, the two Era 100 SL speakers can be added and assigned as surrounds. After configuration, the three speakers operate together automatically whenever you watch television, while remaining part of the wider Sonos multi-room system for music.

Expand with a Sonos Subwoofer

The Beam Ultra Surround Set can easily be upgraded later by adding a compatible Sonos Sub 4 or Sub Mini. Adding a subwoofer takes care of the deepest frequencies, giving films and music greater scale and impact while allowing Beam Ultra to concentrate more effectively on the rest of the soundtrack.
