The Spendor A2.2 is a slim, compact floorstanding loudspeaker designed to deliver the natural, open and engaging sound of Spendor’s A-Line with greater bass extension and scale than the bookshelf A1.2.

Standing just 78.6cm tall, the A2.2 is exceptionally easy to accommodate in real-world living spaces. Its two-way design combines a 15cm bass/mid driver with a 22mm tweeter, while refined cabinet damping, improved bracing and carefully tuned reflex loading help produce a clean, balanced and expressive performance.

Compact Floorstanding Design

The A2.2 is one of the most compact floorstanders in Spendor’s range, making it particularly well suited to smaller and medium-sized rooms. Its slim 150mm-wide cabinet keeps the visual footprint to a minimum, while the floorstanding design provides greater bass extension and scale than the bookshelf A1.2.

Spendor has also refined the internal airflow and port tuning to improve bass timing and definition.

Enhanced Cabinet Damping

A key development in the A2.2 is the use of constrained-layer damping with Sorbothane around the driver and cabinet interface. This helps absorb unwanted vibration before it can pass into the enclosure, reducing colouration and allowing more musical detail to come through. Combined with enhanced internal bracing, the result is a cleaner and more focused presentation with improved stereo imaging.

Refined Bass Performance

The A2.2 uses a carefully tuned bass-reflex enclosure to extend low-frequency performance while maintaining speed and control. Spendor has revised the port tuning to improve timing and reduce unwanted overhang, helping bass lines sound more precise and better integrated with the midrange.

The result is an impressively punchy and authoritative presentation given the modest dimensions whilst maintaining the agility and natural balance associated with Spendor’s A-Line Series.
