With the new 600 S3 range Bowers & Wilkins has built upon three decades of experience in creating the reference standard in attainable yet high-performance bookshelf speakers.

The 606 S3 takes the award-winning 606 formula and evolves it. By complementing the Continuum cone™ and Titanium Dome tweeter with upgraded speaker terminals, and a subtly modernised design, 606 S3 offers outstanding performance with deep, room filling bass, open detailed mid-range and crystal-clear high frequencies.

Updated tweeter design

The eighth generation of one of hi-fi’s most acclaimed ranges features some of the most comprehensive upgrades the 600 Series has ever received, the most significant of these is the new Titanium Dome tweeter. Previous iterations of the 600 series used aluminium domes for their tweeters. The 606 S3’s feature a newly designed titanium dome tweeter that's decoupled from the cabinet for a more natural, open sound.

Continuum Cone™ technology

Below the Titanium Dome tweeter sits a 6.5" Continuum™ cone midrange/bass driver that uses B&W's highly acclaimed Fixed Suspension Transducer™ (FST), technology that has filtered down from the company's legendary 800 series. The cone's unique composite construction gives the driver exceptional resolution and transparency even on the most demanding tracks.

Premium build quality

The 606 S3 cabinets have also received extensive improvements. The tweeter and main drive units are now mounted closer together, using intersecting trim rings to improve integration and stereo imaging. On the rear of the speaker, a new terminal tray, taken from the 700 Series S3, is joined by a 700 Series specification bass port, improving performance and creating a stiffer cabinet. The enclosure’s rigidity has been further improved by upgrading the internal bracing.

Optional FS-600 S3 stands

The bottom of the 606 S3 now includes metal threaded inserts so that the speakers can be more securely fixed to the top plate of the new FS-600 S3 stands. These stands help to reduce vibrations and place your speakers at the ideal listening height in a seated position — two factors that have a big impact on the sound.
