Sony Bravia XR85X95L 85” 4K Mini LED Full Array Smart TV

Until recently, top-end premium LED TVs used an advanced type of backlight called full-array with local dimming (FALD). That already excellent panel technology has further evolved by swapping traditional LEDs for a significantly smaller mini version. These Mini LED TVs, like Sony's BRAVIA XR85X95L, can pack in far more LEDs — thousands, in fact.

Sony pairs this dense array of Mini LEDs with their XR Backlight Master Drive to deliver incredibly precise light control for exceptional contrast. By dimming some areas of the screen and boosting others, Sony's XR Contrast Booster 20 delivers bright highlights, natural mid-tones, and deep blacks. It can also reduce “blooming” — sometimes known as the ‘halo effect’ which is sometimes visible when displaying bright objects on dark backgrounds. 

The XR85X95L also features Sony's X-Anti Reflection™ and X-Wide Angle™ technologies to help you enjoy a superb picture from any viewing angle.

Premium processing power

The X95L uses Sony's revolutionary Cognitive Processor XR — the same one used in their top-of-the-line MASTER series. This powerful processor takes conventional Artificial Intelligence a step further by emulating the way our brains think and respond when we see and hear things. This creates a beautiful, true-to-life picture paired with immersive, accurate sound. 

The XR processor also cross-analyses individual picture elements and quickly identifies the human focal point, so that it can immediately enhance each detail of that area. Instead of applying generic changes to the entire frame, it recognizes how individual parts of the whole interact with each other and makes precise adjustments to create a more natural picture.

Sound innovation with Acoustic Multi-Audio+™

The ‘X95L's XR processor also contributes to richer, more involving sound. Acoustic Multi-Audio+™ technology uses four front-facing speakers, and two sound positioning frame tweeters to create sound with superb clarity whilst also ensuring the pictures and sound are precisely aligned. That means you'll hear the moment a tennis ball smashes against the racket, a race car zooms across the track, or the crowd cheers from the sides. With such a multi-faceted, dynamic audio experience, it's like being inside the stadium.

Google TV simplifies streaming

The XR85X95L includes the Google TV smart app platform which consolidates a wide range of streaming services into a single user interface. Watch an episode of Killing Eve on iPlayer followed by The Expanse on Amazon Prime all from one watch list, without having to search around in individual apps.  

And if you're feeling really lazy, you can simply ask the Google Assistant to find a particular TV show or movie. You can also adjust the volume, change channels or inputs, and control other basic TV functions using your voice.

Light & Colour Sensor

When the hue of a light source in a room changes, for example between cool and warm, colours of the TV picture change accordingly and can become unnatural. The X95L includes an RGB light sensor that optimises colour and brightness of the picture to the light source and room environment.

Premium remote

The new premium remote is easy to use with simplified buttons and a backlight so you can see everything clearly, even in the dark. With a flush surface featuring lower buttons and a special polyurethane coating, the X95L remote is easy to wipe and keep clean. Boasting a compact design and aluminium finish the remote has a beautifully refined look and is comfortable to hold in the hand.

The XR85X95L is an excellent match for your PC or next-gen console, with a dedicated Game Mode that delivers ultra-low input lag. It supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for smooth graphics without frame tearing or stuttering , 4K at 120Hz, and enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC). And if you've got a PS5, you'll benefit from Auto HDR Tone Mapping for more accurate detail and colour.

More streaming options

The X95L has Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay® 2 support so you can easily stream a wide range of content from your mobile device or compatible computer. 

The TV also includes the Apple TV streaming app, so you can rent, buy, and watch titles from Apple's video library, and subscribe to Apple TV channels, without connecting a separate device.
